Dominant PSV brush ADO aside: 0-7
Érick Gutiérrez capped a great display as a substitute with an assist and a goal as a dominant PSV side hammered ADO Den Haag 0-7 in the Cars Jeans Stadion on Saturday night
PSV saw most of the ball inside the first few minutes and the first chance fell to Luuk de Jong. Hirving Lozano fed De Jong but his shot went the wrong side of the post.
Mark van Bommel’s side pressed ADO high up the pitch and were rewarded for their dominance on 18 minutes. Hirving Lozano intercepted a poor back pass and comfortably slotted home the opener: 0-1.
PSV doubled the lead on the stroke of half-time, when Angeliño’s inch-perfect cross was clinically headed home by PSV’s striker up front Luuk de Jong: 0-2.
After Nick Viergever has missed a great goal scoring opportunity, Aaron Meijers pulled down Luuk de Jong in the box. Referee Bas Nijhuis pointed to the spot after VAR review. Gastón Pereiro calmly converted the spot-kick nine minutes into the second half: 0-3.
Érick Gutiérrez came on in the 70th minute to make his debut for PSV. The substitution immediately paid off. ‘Guti’ turned provider for ‘El Chucky’ whose finish was impeccable and scored a wonder strike himself on 75 minutes. Bergwijn and Pereiro, again from the spot, completed the rout in the final minute: 0-7.
