Isimat’s extra-time winner earns PSV a 1-0 win over PEC Zwolle
Isimat’s extra-time winner earned PSV a 1-0 win over PEC Zwolle in a hard-fought Eredivisie encounter at the Mac3Park Stadion on Sunday afternoon. PSV were pushed back into their own half but Isimat scored a late goal as PSV extended their winning streak to eight games.
PEC Zwolle were the better team in the early opening exchanges and had some chances to open the scoring but failed to convert their dominance into goals.
PSV’s first real glimpse of goal came on twenty minutes. PEC Zwolle keeper Diederik Boer quickly left his line to deny Hirving Lozano as PSV fought themselves into the game.
PSV created some half-chances and Luuk de Jong really came close to breaking the deadlock but the striker saw his effort cleared off the line.
PEC had most of the ball after the break and PSV were steadily pushed deeper into their own territory. Third-placed PEC caused the PSV defence all kinds of problems and Sandler, Mokhtar and Israelsson had a number of fair chances in quick succession.
PSV started some moves in the closing stages. Boer first made a save to keep his side in the game but was left without a chance when Isimat tapped home the ball from close range, sending the travelling fans into raptures: 0-1.
