PSV return to winning ways against ADO Den Haag
After dropping precious points against Ajax and FC Groningen, PSV have made amends with a convincing and deserved 3-0 victory over ADO Den Haag in the Philips Stadion on Saturday night.
PSV came flying out of the blocks and striker Luuk de Jong gave his team a dream start with two goals inside the first seven opening minutes.
Santiago Arias teed up Luuk de Jong in the area, who poked the ball home on five minutes. Two minutes later, De Jong was lucky when Kuipers tried to clear the ball that took a deflection off the striker to beat keeper Zwinkels: 2-0.
PSV were on fire and got plenty of chances to further extend their lead. Hirving Lozano came close a couple of times, but Marco van Ginkel added a third goal in the first half.
Referee Kuijpers pointed at the spot in the 35th minute when Steven Bergwijn was brought down in the area. Marco van Ginkel duly stepped up to make it 3-0, converting his seventh spot kick in a row.
PSV also had goal scoring opportunities after the break. Lozano was denied when one-on-one with the goalkeeper and Isimat only hit the post with a free header. Following the 3-0 win, PSV have 43 points from 17 games, midway the season.
